Example 3

Find, list or copy files on your discs on the basis of internal data like artist, album, song name from MP3, MP2, AAC, WMA etc.

The configuration

Create a new profile and configure finefiles like in the screenshot below. Start the process and select the desired target folder.

At the end of this page you’ll find a predefined profile (ffpp) of the displayed configuration. Right click on the link and save the *.ffpp file into your ffpp directory (a subdirectory of your finefiles working folder).
Select “Profile / New” and choose it out of the list of predefined profiles. finefiles will automatically create and load the new profile. Select “Process / Start Process” to run.

Note: finefiles can read out meta data from mp3, mp2, aac and wma files only, so we exclude all other files. Every matching file is displayed as a clickable file link, if meta data is present they are displayed below the file name in dark green (finefiles automatically displays the line only if the specific meta entry has any content). In our example we additionally copy all files from our favorite artist “eto” to a separate directory C:\temp\eto. Right click and save the predefined profile to the ffpp folder of your finefiles installation.
